William E. ("Bill”) Moore is an accomplished attorney with over 44 years of litigation experience from all levels of state and federal trial courts to the North Carolina Supreme Court and the Fourth and Federal Circuit Courts of Appeals.  Currently serving as "Of Counsel" (January 2026) for the Gray Layton Kersh law firm (formerly Senior Litigator Partner from 1999-2025), Bill’s experience ranges from enforcing and defending the rights of individuals and families to handling trials and appeals of complex corporate and commercial disputes, constantly negotiating and crafting agreements to settle disputes over contracts, property, and/or legal duties.  Mr. Moore holds a Bachelor of Science Degree with high honors from the University of Florida (1978) (Phi Beta Kappa) and a Juris Doctorate from Duke University School of Law (1981). 

 

Bill has been a Certified Superior Court Mediator since 2006, recently founding Moore Mediations LLC to assist in the resolution of legal disputes, and/or the readiness for trial (strategically, practically emotionally, financially, and legally) by exploring all reasonable alternatives for settlement, saving parties and their attorneys the additional time, money and risk of letting other people determine the outcome of whatever the parties can decide for themselves.
